Activity	Barry Miles was the co-founder of Indica Books and Gallery in 1966 and International Times (IT), the first European underground newspaper. In 1968 Paul McCartney appointed him head of Zapple, the Beatles' spoken word label. He specialises in writing about the Beat Generation and is the author of many books including: ‘A Catalogue of the William S. Burroughs Archive’ (1973), ‘Allen Ginsberg: A Biography’ (1989), ‘William Burroughs: El Hombre Invisible’ (1992), ‘Jack Kerouac: King of the Beats’ (1998), ‘Beat Hotel’ (2000), the best selling ‘Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now’ (1997), and Frank Zappa (2004).
