DescriptionThis collection consists of the papers and reference material of the writer Barry Miles for a proposed book on the life of Brigitte Bardot in collaboration with Simon Caulkin. The collection includes the working drafts and notes for the proposed book; a letter to Brigitte Bardot's agent; and reference books, magazines, periodicals, and tearsheets related to Bardot.

AdminHistoryBarry Miles, born 1943, is an English author known for his writings on the British 1960s underground and counterculture scene. Among many other publications, he was the co-owner of Indica Gallery which helped start the independent newspaper International Times.

His proposed book on Brigitte Bardot did not come to fruition due to Miles' potential collaborator Simon Caulkin joining the staff of the Observer instead.
CustodialHistoryThis collection was assembled as a writer's reference library and archive collection to gather and organise information for Miles to write a proposed book on the life of Brigitte Bardot in collaboration with Simon Caulkin. The collection was purchased from Barry Miles by LJMU Special Collections & Archives in 2011.
